As one of the leading causes of death and illness for people in several demographics, many forms of cancer are known. The second most common form is lung cancer, and it affects both men and women without prejudice, being the form of cancer that has the highest rate of death.
This lack of prejudice toward men or women also extends to smokers and non-smokers. Around 20% of the deaths from lung cancer are not people who smoke, or who have ever engaged in the habit. The link between asbestos and lung cancer, specifically called mesothelioma lung cancer, is a strong example of this, as it is a top cause of lung cancer and can occur in anyone who has lived or worked near the material.
Due to the unpredictability of the disease, it is important to know the symptoms and have them checked at the earliest sign. Early treatment is the only way to reduce the effects of cancer and provides the best chance of remission.
Signs and Symptoms of Lung Cancer
Many symptoms are related to several illnesses or health concerns, however, they should be addressed as needed, and when several symptoms occur at the same time it is even more important to be assessed and rule out clinical lung cancer, or other forms.
