Position: Emergency Management Coordinator

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Management Coordinator to oversee the administration of the Emergency Management Department. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating emergency planning, response, and recovery efforts involving various government agencies, private organizations, and volunteer groups. This position requires a strong focus on preparedness, mitigation, and interagency cooperation to ensure effective emergency operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and update emergency policies and plans.
- Coordinate with government agencies, community groups, and industry partners for emergency preparedness.
- Conduct trainings and exercises to enhance emergency response capabilities.
- Manage emergency operations during activations, ensuring multi-agency coordination and communication.
- Facilitate public information dissemination and manage public warning systems during emergencies.
- Prepare damage assessments, after-action reports, and recovery plans post-disaster.
Requirements
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in emergency management.
- Knowledge of emergency management principles, Incident Command System (ICS), and emergency operations center functions.
- Certifications in ICS, HSEEP, FEMA Professional Development, and First Aid/CPR.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work irregular hours, travel for trainings, and respond to emergency situations.
Skills & Abilities
- Considerable knowledge of emergency planning, response, and recovery protocols.
- Proficiency in using technology for emergency communications and resource management.
- Effective problem-solving, decision-making, and crisis management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders in high-pressure environments.
Compensation
Salary Range: $26.51 - $33.14 per hour
