Job Description
We are currently seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Madison County Jail located in Madison, Florida. As a Licensed Practical Nurse with GENESYS Health Alliance, you will provide care for and treat detainees in a correctional setting, administering both routine and emergency medical care for acute and chronic illnesses and injuries.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient treatments such as blood pressure checks, glucose monitoring, nebulizer treatments, etc.
- Administer prescribed medications and document administration.
- Carry out nursing care plans as prescribed by a medical provider or RN.
- Ensure security and safety of the treatment area and medications.
- Complete initial and ongoing screenings on detained individuals.
- Explain procedures and treatment protocols to patients.
Requirements
- Graduation from a nationally accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program.
- Current LPN licensure in the state of employment or ability to obtain license.
- Current Basic Life Support certification.
- Correctional nursing experience preferred.
- Ability to obtain security clearance, including drug screen and background check.
