Preventative Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

Portman is currently seeking a Preventative Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. This role involves independently performing a wide range of general facility maintenance tasks, including mechanical, lighting, and hardware systems repairs. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of state and local codes, hold a current driver's license, and be able to collaborate effectively at all organizational levels.

Role Responsibilities

• Maintain property's major HVAC, plumbing, life safety, and electrical equipment.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building equipment.
• Test and treat building water features, service pool equipment, and maintain chemical balance.
• Install and repair electrical fixtures and devices.
• Troubleshoot problems in plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and other systems.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Accredited vocational school degree in HVAC or electrical maintenance preferred.
• EPA refrigerant transition recovery certification required.
• Six or more years of related experience in maintaining commercial building equipment.
• BOMA technician certification program preferred.
