Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Maintenance Technician to join our global team at Cargill. As a member of our protein and salt business, you will be responsible for maintaining and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of production machinery. You will play a crucial role in upholding our commitment to safe, responsible, and sustainable ways of providing high-quality food products to our customers.
Principal Accountabilities
- Using hand tools to perform maintenance on production machinery.
- Ensuring food safety and quality.
- Cleanliness and housekeeping.
- Responding to radio calls from other departments for maintenance-related actions.
- Documenting daily work assigned on paper and in the maintenance management system.
- Troubleshooting equipment with minimal supervision and communicating the status to maintenance management and other departments.
- Utilizing parts in inventory to repair equipment and following procedures in documenting what is issued out.
Required Qualifications
- Eligibility to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
- Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal & written).
- Physical ability to perform job duties, including bending, lifting, kneeling, climbing, and operating machinery.
- Willingness to work in various indoor and outdoor conditions, using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary.
- Ability to work in elevated areas and operate machines using manuals.
- Basic computer skills and ability to use basic hand tools.
- Capability of operating a forklift and other motorized equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous production or maintenance experience, ideally in a meat processing or food handling environment.
