Job Description

We are looking for a caring and dedicated Vet Cadets Teacher to join our team at the Veterinary Referral Center of Central Oregon. As a member of our teaching team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the early education experiences of young children and fostering a safe learning environment. This position offers the opportunity to support the children of veterinary professionals and contribute to their overall development during this critical stage of growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and respond to activities in the classroom and outdoor play areas.
  • Implement developmentally appropriate activities and lesson plans for preschool-aged children.
  • Create a nurturing environment that promotes learning and growth.
  • Provide individualized attention and support to foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
  • Utilize effective classroom management techniques to ensure a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Maintain records of each child's progress and development.
  • Lead the daily classroom routine for a group of children under the age of 3.

Education & Experience

  • Completion of early childhood education training or related credentials.
  • Qualifying teaching experience in a child care setting.
  • Knowledge of child development principles and best practices.

Skills & Competencies

  • Create a safe and welcoming environment for children.
  • Implement developmentally appropriate curriculum for toddlers.
  • Ability to monitor and assess children's progress.
  • Physical stamina to lift and carry items as needed.
  • Positive attitude and flexibility in a classroom setting.

Physical Demands

  • Lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Stand and be mobile for extended periods.
  • Work in playful and noisy environments.
  • Bend, stoop, and sit on the floor as necessary.
