Job Description

The Piedmont Triad Regional Council (PTRC) is seeking a highly motivated Accounting Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis. As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for performing technical accounting functions, including account reconciliation, report preparation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and assisting with payroll functions. Emphasis will be on ensuring compliance with accounting procedures and policies while maintaining accuracy and reliability in all tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical accounting functions for the financial operations of the PTRC.
  • Work directly with the general ledger, including account reconciliation and report preparation.
  • Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, and assist with payroll functions.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting procedures, systems, and policies.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of general accounting principles, budgeting processes, and internal controls.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with all levels of the organization.
  • Graduation from an accredited two-year institution with a major in accounting.
  • One year of experience in an automated fiscal or accounting environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Salary

Anticipated starting salary is $18.01 per hour, with a maximum of 20 hours per week.
