Construction Estimator

Job Description

University Mechanical Contractors, Inc (UMC) is looking for a Construction Estimator to join our team in Everett, WA. As a Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for bid and budgeting activities related to Industrial Piping, Equipment, Structural, Civil works, HVAC/Air Systems, and complex mechanical systems. Your role will involve generating estimates, coordinating bid activities, and ensuring accurate pricing.

Responsibilities

• Organize and categorize plan/drawing sets for estimation purposes.
• Calculate scopes of work for labor, materials, and equipment based on IG Tick Sheets.
• Understand and apply Union Trade agreements and IG Trade Rate sheets to estimates.
• Participate in bid activities including obtaining specialty quotes and subcontractor pricing.
• Review specifications and drawings for accurate take-offs.
• Prepare estimates for different stages of project development.
• Collaborate with internal teams to develop project budgets and schedules.

Requirements

• Technical knowledge of mechanical systems and construction methods.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Experience in reading construction drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in construction estimating software and MS Office applications.
• 5+ years of estimating experience in Industrial/Mechanical projects.
