Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join First Student's team in Wappinger Falls, NY. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing school buses, ensuring vehicle safety and readiness. You will also provide guidance to lower-level technicians and assist with emergency services.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance inspections.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle and equipment components such as brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions.
• Complete work orders accurately and assist with mobile emergency services.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license; willingness to obtain CDL while employed.
• 3+ years of automotive or diesel maintenance experience or technical school education.
• Possess a mechanic's tool set and be willing to participate in ASE certification programs.
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical exams.
