Job Description

We are looking for a fully licensed and experienced High School Technology Teacher to join our team at GEO Next Generation High School in Indianapolis. The Technology Teacher will be responsible for instructing students on various aspects of technology, including computer programming, software development, and hardware maintenance. This role involves teaching courses such as an introductory survey course, Python programming, Web Programming (Javascript, PHP, MySQL), and possibly college-level computer science courses.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing lesson plans aligned with the school's curriculum and educational standards.
  • Teaching programming, software development, and hardware maintenance while integrating core mathematics and science concepts.
  • Instructing students on writing computer programs, algorithms, and programming languages.
  • Creating projects to complement lectures and enhance student learning.
  • Establishing professional relationships with other educational programs related to technology use.
  • Providing individual tutoring to students as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Valid Indiana Initial Practitioner or Professional Educator license (Emergency permits/substitute licenses not accepted).
  • Proficiency in programming languages, software development, and hardware maintenance.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
