Job Description

The Registered Nurse - Float Pool 3 at ThedaCare is a critical role responsible for providing patient-centered, evidence-based nursing care across the continuum through a collaborative approach. Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patients' physical condition and nursing needs using evidence-based practices.
  • Develop comprehensive care plans in collaboration with patients and the interprofessional team.
  • Demonstrate clinical expertise in the assigned specialty and perform all nursing functions effectively.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance patient care experiences and streamline processes.
  • Engage in mentorship, collaboration, and problem-solving with the care team.
  • Manage risks proactively to prevent crises and respond effectively in emergencies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or commitment to obtain it within five years of hire.
  • Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care hospital setting.
  • Experience with Float Pool or Resource teams in healthcare settings preferred.
  • Current Wisconsin RN or compact nursing licensure.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to move freely, stand, stoop, walk, bend, push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other occupational hazards.

Work Environment

  • May be exposed to sharp objects, toxic chemicals, high noise levels, and communicable diseases.
  • Use of computers is integral to daily work activities.
