Job Description

We are looking for an Application Engineer to join Discover Financial Services. As a Full Stack Engineer in the Digital Payments team, you will have the opportunity to build and release reliable software systems at scale. Collaborating with various teams, you will develop and maintain full-stack solutions tailored to our business needs. Your role will involve analyzing, designing, testing, and deploying new features to production with a focus on quality and security. Additionally, you will provide guidance to junior engineers, oversee design decisions, and lead technology communities within Discover.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors in Computer Science or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related areas.
• Technical proficiency rating of competent on the Dreyfus engineering scale for internal applicants.

Bonus Points

• Experience with legacy modernization projects.
• Strong Java and cloud-based technology proficiency.
• Designing and operating Kafka clusters for event-driven architecture.
• Expertise in deploying application and infrastructure through pipeline capabilities.
