Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Area Director of Sales to oversee the Wisconsin/Michigan area for the Four Seasons Island Resort. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the sales team to ensure a high level of professionalism, guest service, and profitability across three independent hotels. This position has hybrid options with weekly visibility at the three hotels and up to 75% travel required. The Area Director of Sales will report to the hotel General Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Execute sales activities to achieve budgeted goals.
  • Research, analyze, and monitor financial, technological, and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities and establish a leadership position in the market.
  • Plan and participate in sales trips and industry-related meetings as appropriate to the assigned markets/territories.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting plan and negotiate with clients to achieve maximum revenue/profit potential while satisfying clients' needs.
  • Enhance the hotel’s community image by actively participating in associations, events, clubs, and boards.
  • Assume active ownership of the assigned sales territory and respond to specific market needs, initiates needed action, and suggests to sales leadership.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of sales, marketing, and revenue management.
  • Minimum three to five years of sales and marketing leadership in a similar-sized operation preferred as a Director of Sales.
  • Ability to analyze data and establish appropriate sales strategies.
  • High school diploma or equivalent. College degree or Associates degree with experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Supervisory and personnel management experience.
  • Aggressive, outgoing, and self-motivating individual with a pleasant personality.
  • Demonstrated skills in supervising and building a high-performing sales team in hotel industry work experience, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to travel 75% of the time (sales trips, or from hotel to hotel).
