Job Description
Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans is seeking a Client Intake and Triage Specialist to join our team. As a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to ending Veteran homelessness, this role will play a crucial part in assessing eligibility for MACV services and connecting Veterans with the support they need. The Client Intake and Triage Specialist will be the initial point of contact for Veterans in crisis, evaluating their needs and coordinating appropriate referrals.
Responsibilities
- Screen and assess Veteran eligibility for MACV services via phone, email, and walk-ins.
- Coordinate referrals and assignments to case managers.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and referrals.
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
- Collect necessary documentation from Veterans to facilitate assistance.
- Perform administrative tasks as required, including financial and operational support.
Key Skills
- Excellent communication skills for interactions with Veterans and community partners.
- Strong problem-solving abilities in crisis situations.
- Proficiency in database management.
Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations.
- Familiarity with MACV programs and local resources.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Preferably a Veteran or knowledge of Veteran affairs.
- Knowledge of database systems and Microsoft Office.
- Valid Driver's License.
Compensation
Salary Range: $43,000 - $48,000 per year.
