Christopher Community, Inc. (CCI) is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to join the FNR team. CCI is a not-for-profit development and management company that assists low- and moderate-income families and seniors to secure suitable housing across Upstate New York. With over 50 years of providing services to communities, Christopher Community currently manages more than 3,000 units of housing in over 100 buildings, and administers the Rental Assistance Program in Onondaga County, benefiting over 1,200 households.

Benefit Summary:

  • Full-time, benefit paid position.
  • Competitive salary range: $22 to $25 per hour depending on experience & qualifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This position holds lead grounds responsibilities and additional work involving repairs and maintenance of mechanical systems in buildings and rental units. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, trade backgrounds in HVAC, Plumbing, or Electrical are desirable, along with strong time management and communication skills. A Class D driver's license is required.

No supervisory duties.

Problem Solving/Decision Making

Requires reading and comprehension skills, basic mathematical ability, effective communication, and the ability to prioritize work orders.

Physical Demands

The role involves physical tasks requiring the ability to lift and move up to 60 pounds, stand, walk, use hands, and more.

Work Environment

Work settings include exposure to mechanical parts, weather conditions, chemicals, noise, etc.
