Job Description

Jazz Pharmaceuticals, a global biopharmaceutical company, is seeking a Corporate Counsel, Litigation to manage a diverse portfolio of litigation matters, including antitrust, securities, patent, commercial, and employment disputes. This role involves strategizing, conducting pre-suit analysis, advising functional leaders, and leading internal investigations. The position requires a JD, 5+ years of relevant experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to and manage a variety of litigation matters globally.
  • Interact with functional leaders to advise on ongoing litigation impacts.
  • Participate in strategic initiatives and working groups.
  • Lead discovery strategy and execution, oversee document review, and prepare company witnesses.
  • Provide legal counsel on document retention, data disposition, and e-discovery obligations.
  • Interact with outside counsel, ensure adherence to billing guidelines, and stay within budget.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of Jazz business and client areas.

Requirements

  • JD from an accredited law school with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience litigating in U.S. state and federal courts, preferably in pharmaceutical/life sciences.
  • Ability to develop close relationships, critical thinking, and work independently or collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve legal/compliance issues effectively.
  • Periodic travel throughout the United States and Europe required.

Education and Licenses

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree; licensed to practice law in one or more U.S. jurisdictions.
