Data Center Operations Technician I

Job Description:

The Data Center Operations Technician I at Flexential is a crucial 24x7x365 role responsible for offering physical and Level II technical support to customers and resources. This position requires a strong knowledge of Facilities infrastructure, Windows OS, PC troubleshooting, and management applications. As a Data Center Operations Technician I, you will represent Flexential professionally and technically, ensuring smooth interactions with customers and internal resources.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

• Provide timely resolution and/or escalation of facility and customer issues.
• Maintain a professional attitude during data center duties.
• Troubleshoot and document technical issues using the Flexential ticketing system.
• Follow Flexential support and data center policies.
• Offer local access and escort for vendors and carriers.
• Perform remote hands work for customers.
• Support 24/7 operations and work any shift in a 24x7x365 environment.
• Assist with physical and logical installations of services.
• Maintain Data Center cleanliness and surrounding areas.
• Perform Facilities Rounds and escalate information.
• Handle shipping/receiving for customers and deliveries.
• Operate Badge Access Security System.
• Assist the Critical Infrastructure Manager when needed.
• Maintain inventory levels of cabling and general usage items.
• Perform other assigned duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

• Passion for excellent customer experience.
• Understanding of Windows and Microsoft Operating systems.
• Self-starter and motivated attitude.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
• Prefer 1 year of experience in IT Support.
• AA, BS, or High School Diploma.
• Network +, Security +, or CCNA desired.
• Microsoft MCP or MCSA preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
• Capability to work in cold environments.
• Aptitude to handle pallet jacks and lift heavy objects.
• Proficiency in pulling and installing cabling.

Hourly Pay Range:

• Hourly pay range estimated at ($18.38 - $21.55) depending on experience and qualifications.
