Data Center Operations Technician I

Job Description

The Data Center Operations Technician I role at Flexential is critical for providing physical and Level II technical support to customers and internal resources on a 24/7/365 basis. This position requires a strong grasp of Facilities infrastructure, Windows operating systems, PC troubleshooting, and management applications. Successful candidates will represent Flexential professionally and technically, maintaining a calm and professional demeanor in interactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Resolve Facility and customer issues promptly.
• Maintain a professional conduct in data center duties.
• Troubleshoot and document technical issues using Flexential's ticketing system.
• Follow company policies, processes, and procedures.
• Provide local access and escort for vendors and carriers.
• Perform remote hands work for customers.
• Support 24/7 operations and work various shifts in a 24x7x365 environment.
• Assist in physical and logical installations of Flexential services.
• Maintain Data Center cleanliness and surrounding areas.
• Conduct Facilities Rounds and escalate critical information.
• Manage inbound and outbound shipping/receiving.
• Operate and manage Badge Access Security System.
• Assist Critical Infrastructure Manager as needed.
• Maintain inventory levels of cabling and general usage items.
• Perform additional duties as necessary.

Required Qualifications

• Passion for ensuring exceptional customer experiences.
• Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Operating systems.
• Self-starter with strong motivation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, reliable, and deadline-driven.
• Preferably 1 year of IT Support experience.
• Education: AA, BS, or High School Diploma.
• Desired certifications: Network +, Security +, or CCNA; Microsoft MCP or MCSA.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
• Work in cold environments and handle heavy objects.
• Operate pallet jacks and install cabling.

Hourly Pay Range

The estimated hourly pay range for this position is $19.33 - $22.67, subject to candidate experience, location, and qualifications.
