Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated Engineer II - DAS (Distributed Acoustic Sensing) to join our team at EarthScope Consortium. As the Engineer II, you will manage and implement field projects, provide technical support for geophysical instruments and networks, and contribute to the development of new technologies. This position offers the opportunity to work on projects of varying complexity, collaborate with team members, and engage in field operations across different locations.
Responsibilities
- Implement individual geophysical projects and assist with multiple projects.
- Identify and solve technical issues related to geophysical sensor hardware and software.
- Evaluate instrument design and data to improve systems.
- Collaborate with team members on project documentation and reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience with geophysical sensors or networks.
- Proficiency in data quality analysis software is preferred.
Additional Skills
- Experience in Fiber Optics Distributed Sensing applications.
- Knowledge of signal processing methods and time series data format.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment for data processing.
- Proficiency in programming languages like MATLAB or Python.
