Job Description
We have an immediate opening for a Material Handler at Slumberland Furniture. This full-time position offers competitive pay starting at $17 per hour and involves warehouse work with forklift operations.
Primary Objective & Scope of Position
The Material Handler is responsible for storing, moving, and distributing merchandise efficiently. This role includes providing some training to fellow employees and ensuring accuracy in customer orders and system records.
Essential Functions and Accountabilities
- Move and organize merchandise for space efficiency.
- Handle merchandise for storage, delivery, customer pickup, or shipment.
- Manage inventory flow using a POS system.
- Inspect, receive, and process incoming/outgoing merchandise.
Other responsibilities include training colleagues, maintaining customer service standards, following safety protocols, and assisting with building maintenance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic math skills.
- Knowledge of tools, hardware, and product assembly.
- Valid driver's license.
- Basic computer proficiency; POS experience is a plus.
