Job Description
Join our team at Slumberland Furniture as a Material Handler and work in a dynamic warehouse environment. We are hiring individuals who are proficient in forklift operations and are ready to contribute to the efficient movement and distribution of merchandise. This full-time position offers competitive pay starting at $17 per hour, Monday to Friday from 7:00 am.
Primary Objective & Scope of Position
This role involves storing, moving, and distributing merchandise while leading by example and providing training to other team members.
Essential Functions and Accountabilities
- Move and condense merchandise to optimize space efficiency.
- Manage merchandise flow using the point of sale system.
- Unpack, inspect, and assemble outgoing merchandise carefully.
- Provide training to other employees.
- Communicate professionally with customers, colleagues, and vendors.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Adhere to safety policies and maintain a safe, organized facility.
Requirements
- High school diploma or working towards a GED.
- Basic math skills.
- Knowledge of tools, hardware components, and product assembly.
- Valid driver's license.
- Basic computer knowledge.
