Material Handler

Join our team at Slumberland Furniture as a Material Handler. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently moving, storing, and distributing merchandise. We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented individuals to contribute to our warehouse operations.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position

The Material Handler position involves merchandise movement tasks to maximize space efficiency and ensure customer orders are accurately handled. You will provide training to other employees, maintain inventory accuracy, and uphold our commitment to exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently move merchandise within locations to optimize space.
• Handle merchandise for storage, delivery, or shipment.
• Utilize point of sale (POS) system for managing flow.
• Ensure accuracy in customer orders and maintain system records.
• Inspect, assemble, and wrap merchandise for shipment to maintain quality.
• Provide training and guidance to team members.
• Communicate professionally with customers, colleagues, and vendors.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Adhere to safety protocols and practices for equipment handling and facility organization.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (or currently pursuing).
• Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware.
• Valid driver's license.
• Basic computer proficiency.
