Material Handler

Job Description

We are currently looking to hire a dedicated Material Handler to join our warehouse team at Slumberland Furniture. This full-time position involves forklift operations and merchandise movement to ensure efficient product handling and distribution.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position

• Responsible for storing, moving, and distributing merchandise efficiently.
• Provide training and guidance to other employees.

Responsibilities

• Move and organize merchandise to maximize space efficiency.
• Handle merchandise for display, storage, or delivery.
• Utilize point of sale system for inventory management.
• Ensure accuracy in customer orders and system records.
• Inspect, receive, assemble, and prepare merchandise for shipment.
• Conduct training for other employees.
• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain inventory accuracy.
• Adhere to safety protocols to prevent damage and maintain a safe work environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (or in progress).
• Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware.
• Valid driver's license and basic computer proficiency.
• Experience with POS systems is a plus.
