Merchandise Handler - No Weekends

Job Description

Slumberland Furniture is hiring Merchandise Handlers to join our team. As a Merchandise Handler, you will play a crucial role in the efficient movement and distribution of products within our warehouse. This full-time position offers a competitive salary starting at $17 per hour with a Monday-Friday schedule starting at 7:00 am.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position

This position involves storing, moving, and distributing merchandise. You will lead by example, providing training to team members and playing a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently move and condense merchandise to optimize space.
• Transfer merchandise to and from the show floor for various purposes.
• Use the point of sale system to manage inventory flow accurately.
• Inspect, assemble, and package products for delivery or storage.
• Ensure inventory accuracy and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
• Assist in training other team members.
• Maintain a safe and organized warehouse environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (or in progress).
• Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware assembly.
• Valid driver's license and basic computer skills.
• Experience with POS systems is a plus.
