Merchandise Handler - Overtime Available

Job Description

Slumberland Furniture is currently hiring full-time Merchandise Handlers with opportunities for overtime. As a Merchandise Handler, you will play a crucial role in the movement and distribution of products within our warehouse facility. This position involves operating forklifts and ensuring the efficient storage, handling, and delivery of merchandise.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position

This position focuses on tasks related to merchandise movement, including storing, relocating, and distributing products. As a leader in the warehouse, you will also provide training to other team members.

Essential Functions and Accountabilities

• Efficiently move and organize merchandise to optimize space utilization.
• Handle the movement of merchandise to and from the show floor, ensuring items are properly displayed, wrapped, or stored for delivery.
• Utilize point of sale (POS) systems to manage inventory flow accurately.
• Execute tasks related to incoming and outgoing shipments, including unloading, inspecting, tagging, and assembling products.
• Provide training to colleagues and ensure inventory accuracy through effective communication with customers and vendors.
• Adhere to safety protocols, practice safe handling procedures, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (or in progress).
• Basic math skills and knowledge of tools, hardware, and product assembly.
• Valid driver's license and basic computer literacy.
• Experience with POS systems is preferred.
