Sr Merchandise Handler

Job Description

We are currently hiring a Senior Merchandise Handler to join our team at Slumberland Furniture. As a vital part of our warehouse operations, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement of merchandise, maintaining inventory accuracy, and providing exceptional customer service.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position

• Perform merchandise movement tasks such as storing, moving, and distributing products.
• Lead by example and provide training to fellow employees.

Essential Functions and Accountabilities

• Conduct merchandise movement activities to optimize space efficiency.
• Handle merchandise transfers to and from the show floor for various purposes.
• Using the POS system, manage merchandise flow accurately.
• Ensure precision in customer orders and system records.
• Receive incoming merchandise and prepare outgoing items for shipment.
• Train and support other team members as needed.
• Deliver excellent customer service by communicating effectively and maintaining inventory accuracy.
• Embrace safety policies, practice safe behaviors, and contribute to risk reduction efforts.
• Participate in maintenance tasks and adhere to all company rules and expectations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required (or working towards completion).
• Basic math skills.
• Knowledge of tools, hardware components, and product assembly.
• Valid driver's license.
• Basic computer knowledge, familiarity with POS systems is advantageous.
