Position: Warehouse Worker

Primary Objective & Scope of Position:

This position at Slumberland Furniture entails responsibilities related to the movement, storage, and distribution of merchandise efficiently. Additionally, it involves leading by example and providing training to other team members.

Essential Functions and Accountabilities:

• Merchandise Movement
• Ensure space efficiency by moving and condensing merchandise within locations.
• Handle the movement of merchandise to and from the show floor for storage, delivery, or customer pickup.
• Utilize the point of sale (POS) system to manage merchandise flow.
• Guarantee the accuracy of customer orders and system records.
• Inspect, unload, tag, and receive incoming merchandise; unpack, inspect, and wrap outgoing items.
• Training
• Lead by example and provide training to fellow employees.
• Customer Service
• Communicate professionally with customers, colleagues, and vendors.
• Ensure inventory accuracy by resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Other
• Follow Lean practices and fulfill other duties as directed by supervisors.
• Help with grounds and building maintenance and provide lighting assistance.
• Safety
• Adhere to safety policies and practices, modeling safe behaviors and risk reduction procedures.
• Maintain equipment and merchandise by proper handling and operation.
• Follow guidelines and specifications for maintaining a safe and organized facility.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED (or currently pursuing)
• Basic math skills
• Knowledge of tools, hardware components, and product assembly
• Valid driver's license
• Basic computer knowledge
• POS knowledge is desirable
