Job Description
We are looking for a highly skilled Director, Life Claims and Investigations, to join our team at USAA. This position is crucial in ensuring an exceptional member experience for individuals dealing with life insurance claims, managing fraud investigations, and overseeing the Life Special Investigation Unit. As part of the role, you will provide strategic guidance, manage operational plans, develop new fraud investigation programs, and maintain key relationships within the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance to staff and oversee the claims and benefits process.
- Lead the claim investigation team and ensure progress towards objectives.
- Develop and implement Claims Security strategic plans and policies.
- Identify fraud trends, develop new investigation processes, and oversee process improvements.
- Foster collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.
- Lead hiring, employee development, and risk management activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent work experience.
- 8 years of relevant business experience with 3 years in Claims or Insurance Fraud.
- 3 years of direct team lead or management experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- US military experience.
- 5+ years of Life Insurance and/or annuity claims experience.
- 3+ years of Life Insurance and/or annuity claims management.
- Familiarity with claims processing and settlement practices.
- Track record of achieving operational results.
