Job Description
At Hood Container Corporation, we are seeking a General Manager to oversee our Houston, Texas Corrugator Plant . As a General Manager, you will play a crucial role within the business, leading a team of 180+ employees. Reporting to the Vice President of the Industrial Packaging Business, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, establishing operational plans, and driving overall performance in alignment with organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
- Model and advance the company's Guiding Principles & Leadership Characteristics.
- Lead and oversee all aspects of plant operations including safety, quality, manufacturing, finance, HR, and customer service.
- Manage and optimize plant budget to achieve volume and profitability targets.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and align with organizational strategies.
- Develop local leadership talent to drive plant productivity and performance.
- Prioritize and enhance safety protocols in collaboration with the safety department.
- Collaborate with business unit leaders to identify and implement process improvements and innovations.
- Oversee capital projects and maintain customer relationships.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of ten (10) years experience in a managerial role, preferably in agriculture or wax product industries.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a focus on balancing employee needs and business objectives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to engage with diverse personalities.
- Adaptability and flexibility in navigating ambiguous and changing environments.
