Manufacturing Process Specialist

Job Description

Preformed Line Products is looking for a talented Manufacturing Process Specialist to drive global manufacturing performance improvement through collaboration in process engineering, equipment management, and product development. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing manufacturing productivity and efficiency.

Essential Functions

• Manufacturing Process Leadership:
  • Lead technical process improvement and troubleshooting in metal and plastic fabrication.
  • Increase manufacturing productivity through KPI measurement.
  • Support remote site alignment on manufacturing process standards for safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Coach site manufacturing engineering teams for professional development.
• Production Equipment Strategy:
  • Develop improvement plans for helical wire processing equipment.
  • Maintain and update global proprietary machine design drawings.
  • Lead global machine maintenance strategy to enhance asset availability.
  • Review and support new capital equipment business case development.
• Product Engineering Collaboration:
  • Provide insights and recommendations for product development engineers (Design for Manufacturability).
  • Support PLM software implementation.
• Operations Support and Technical Expertise:
  • Introduce new manufacturing developments at PLP sites globally.
  • Assess overall operations performance and drive improvement actions.

Qualifications and Requirements

• B.S. Degree in Engineering.
• Minimum of ten years' experience in engineering or management.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing technology and processing methods.
• Minimum of five years' management experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Travel Requirements: 30%.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects across departments and locations.
• Capability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
