Job Title: Engineer II - DAS (Distributed Acoustic Sensing)

Job Type: Full-Time

Location: On-site, Socorro, New Mexico

Salary Range: $74,400 - $92,900/year

Travel: Up to 30%

Position Summary: The Engineer II manages and implements field projects for geophysical instruments and networks, participating in logistics, operations, and training. Collaborates with team members, proposes new technologies, and ensures project compliance with organizational standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement geophysical projects
  • Resolve technical issues
  • Design and test systems
  • Evaluate instrument design
  • Document activities and metadata
  • Develop technical reports
  • Collaborate on projects

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of experience with geophysical sensors/networks
  • Familiarity with data quality analysis software

Skills & Abilities:

  • Technical knowledge of geophysical sensors
  • Proficiency in hand/power tools
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Capacity to analyze data and make decisions
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills

Other Requirements:

  • Availability for extended hours and travel
  • Valid driver's license and passport
  • Ability to meet safety qualifications for fieldwork
