Job Description
We are looking for a talented Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at Discover Financial Services. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a vital role in guiding the adoption of new technologies, engineering complex public cloud solutions, and ensuring high availability and scalability of services.
Responsibilities
- Engineer complex public cloud (AWS, GCP) solutions.
- Implement configuration management and Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Python, Chef, and Cloud Deployment Manager).
- Use automation, system tools, and 'security first' principles in daily work.
- Collaborate with product teams to provide world-class products and services.
- Serve as an escalation contact for service incidents and participate in internal speaking and advocacy events.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Software Engineering, DevOps, or related roles.
- Internal applicants must have technical proficiency rated as competent on the Dreyfus engineering scale.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GCP and AWS public cloud in a production environment.
- Growth mindset and enthusiasm for learning new technologies quickly.
- Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift.
