Job Description
Discover Financial Services is looking for a Senior Associate Application Engineer to join the technology team. This role involves programming features, test cases, and participating in various product development and operations concepts. The Senior Associate will work closely with engineering teammates to accelerate their technical knowledge while contributing to the development and maintenance of high-visibility customer experiences across web and mobile applications.
Responsibilities
- Complete features and user stories, including test cases and automation independently.
- Learn and apply complex software engineering practices like domain driven design, test driven development, operations, and security.
- Contribute to agile ceremonies, lead demos, facilitate learning for new engineers, and engage in technology communities.
- Participate in system design decisions and understand their impact on the overall product.
- Support production systems and analyze how events and failures affect the product.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- At least 1 year of experience in Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related roles.
- For internal candidates: technical proficiency rating of advanced beginner on the Dreyfus engineering scale.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Java, Spring Boot, Agile methodologies, React Native, ReactJS, Redux, Frontend frameworks, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins), clean code principles, and software testing.

Compensation: Base pay ranges from $71,500 to $121,100 with additional incentives based on factors like location, experience, and skill level.
