Senior Principal Model Governance

Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Principal Model Governance professional to join Discover Financial Services, a leading digital banking and payments company. In this role, you will be responsible for providing tactical direction in setting up policies, procedures, and standards for managing model risk across the enterprise. You will collaborate closely with various teams to maintain complex model governance frameworks and ensure operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Implement new emerging guidance related to model risk.
• Enforce standard policies and procedures for model usage and tracking.
• Maintain model risk management infrastructure and develop reporting mechanisms.
• Interact with regulators, auditors, and business partners to demonstrate operational effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Business, Mathematics, or Engineering.
• 6+ years of experience in Model Risk Management, Model Governance, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in relevant field.
• 8+ years of experience in Model Risk Management or related.
• Proficiency in SAS, SQL, and Tableau is a plus.
• Certifications like PMP or FRM are desirable.

Compensation

Base pay ranges from $103,000.00 to $174,200.00, with additional incentives offered based on experience and skills.
