Surgical Assistant

Job Description

We are an elite oral surgery practice, Pikes Peak Oral Surgery, dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and service to our community. We are currently looking for a dedicated Surgical Assistant to join our team and contribute to our mission. Previous oral surgery experience is a plus but not required.

Role and Responsibilities

The Surgical Assistant plays a vital role in assisting surgeons during procedures by performing tasks such as tissue retraction, IV lines management, and documentation. Responsibilities include preoperative and postoperative patient care, maintaining a sterile environment, and ensuring the availability of necessary surgical equipment.

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required or ability to complete within 1 month of hire.
• Minimum of one year related experience preferred.
• DAANCE certification, licensed dental assistant, and radiology certification are advantageous.

• Basic computer knowledge.
• Strong teamwork and individual work capabilities.
• Good judgment, critical thinking, and passion for safety.
• Exceptional manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Superior listening skills and ability to follow instructions efficiently.
• Basic medical terminology understanding.
