Professional Engineering Consultants (PEC) in Topeka, KS has a position for an experienced Construction Inspector. The role involves inspecting various types of construction projects to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and contract specifications, reviewing construction drawings, attending meetings, maintaining inspection reports, and conducting final inspections. This position requires physical capability to work in field settings, including extreme weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Inspect various types of construction projects to ensure compliance with regulations and specifications.
• Review and interpret construction drawings.
• Attend pre-bid and pre-construction meetings, and respond to questions and problems.
• Maintain daily/weekly inspection reports and prepare punch lists.
• Develop cooperative relationships with employees, managers, and representatives from other departments and organizations.
• May provide materials testing in the field on projects as needed.
• Work in outdoor settings with varying environmental conditions and physical demands.

Qualifications and Skills

• Five or more years of construction inspection experience preferred.
• Knowledge of city, state, and federal codes, ordinances, and regulations pertaining to civil construction projects.
• Considerable skill in reading and interpreting construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Ability to perform required mathematical computations and effectively communicate technical information.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and possess strong organizational skills.
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree or higher.
• Current valid driver's license required.
