Internal Medicine Pharmacist and PGY1 Associate Residency Program Director

Job Description

Manatee Memorial Hospital is seeking an Internal Medicine Pharmacist and PGY1 Associate Residency Program Director to join our team. This role involves serving as the Pharmacy PGY1 Associate Residency Program Director and providing clinical services to the Internal Medicine rounding teams. The position focuses on managing the Pharmacy Postgraduate Year 1 (PGY1) program, coordinating with Graduate Medical Education (GME) Residency Programs, and ensuring adherence to ASHP criteria for residency programs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Pharmacy PGY1 program and coordinate with GME Residency Programs.
• Manage and direct pharmacy residents to fulfill ASHP residency objectives.
• Collaborate with Pharmacy Leadership and GME department for pharmacotherapy education and preceptor development.
• Supervise pharmacists in PGY1 residency positions and provide feedback on preceptor development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (BS Pharm) required; Doctorate degree in Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred.
• PGY1 training OR minimum 3 years of acute care experience involving teaching.
• Current Pharmacist License in the State of Florida.
• Strong technical skills in hospital information systems and Microsoft Office.
• Teaching certificate and Board Certification (BCPS or BC in related Specialty Area) desirable.
