Mechanic

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Master Mechanic to join RICH TRANSPORT LLC, where you will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing tractors, trailers, and other motor vehicles. As a crucial member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our fleet.

Responsibilities

• Consult with drivers to gather information on vehicle history and identify maintenance or repair requirements.
• Visually inspect and use diagnostic tools to identify mechanical problems.
• Perform tests on vehicle parts and systems to ensure proper operation.
• Complete routine maintenance tasks like oil changes and tune-ups.
• Replace or repair faulty parts and systems like brake shoes, belts, and water pumps.
• Conduct post-repair testing to confirm proper functionality.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working on repairs.

Requirements

• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair procedures.
• Proficiency in using computer diagnostic equipment and software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues and read repair manuals.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; CDL is a plus.
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience.

Physical Requirements

• Capability to perform physical tasks like bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Able to work safely in a noisy environment with various odors.
• Good vision to inspect repair work effectively.
