Job Description
Discover Financial Services is seeking a talented Principal Application Engineer to join our team. As a key member, you will play a vital role in developing and maintaining full-stack solutions, working closely with business partners to understand requirements and driving innovation within the team.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain complex front-end and back-end systems with a focus on user experience.
- Plan and integrate new systems within the team's ecosystem.
- Advocate for best practices, mentor team members, and create DevOps processes.
- Support live systems to ensure business continuity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in Computer Science or Information Technology.
- 10+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with containerization, orchestration platforms, and cloud providers.
- Proficiency in Java, Python, Spark, CI/CD technologies, and React JS.
- Strong knowledge of data platforms and API service architectures.
- Understanding of software testing principles, high availability & scalability design, and performance monitoring.
