Principal Product Owner - Payroll and Timekeeping

Job Description

We are looking for a Principal Product Owner to join Discover Financial Services. As the leader on the HR Technology team, you will collaborate with Payroll and Timekeeping business leaders to deliver product outcomes that meet stakeholder requests while managing change impacts across various business functions. The role involves understanding the business constraints and technical capabilities to drive viable solutions, actively managing risks, and escalating issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead the prioritization of business requests in collaboration with HR, Compensation, and Benefits leaders.
• Define key product features and roadmaps based on insights, feedback, and data.
• Align with product vision and best practices to leverage high-impact functionalities.
• Create documentation, identify requirements, and define MVP.
• Prioritize product enhancements and ensure compliance with standards.
• Collaborate with teams to validate acceptance criteria and optimize system components.
• Establish accountability, monitor progress, and manage dependencies.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or 6+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Workday and U.S. payroll regulations.
• Project Management experience and Agile methodology proficiency.

Compensation: Base pay ranges from $110,500.00 to $154,900.00 with additional incentives based on factors like experience and education.
