POSITION SUMMARY
This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing practice standards.
Core Functions
- Assesses patient needs and collaborates on a patient-specific plan of care with the healthcare team.
- Implements the plan of care by providing direct patient care and supervision of activities.
- Evaluates patient responses and revises the plan of care as needed, documenting the process accurately.
- Participates in research activities within clinical practice and contributes to excellent patient outcomes through timely, effective, and safe care.
- In select roles, supervises staff and department workflow.
- Interacts with staff, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts to support patient care and address the human response to health status changes.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must possess a current, valid RN license in the state of practice and BLS certification. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on the practice area.
- Experience in the clinical area where applying is desired, and clinical performance competencies must be maintained.
- Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year of experience in an acute care hospital setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, professional certification is preferred, and additional related education and/or experience is also preferred.
