Job Description

FATHOM, one of the largest digital manufacturing platforms, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our finance team. As the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for coordinating Fathom's accounting and reporting processes, recording transactions in the general ledger, maintaining and reconciling account balances, assisting with the month-end close process, and preparing analysis and reports for Fathom Finance leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Syteline ERP conversion for the accounting and reporting process and become a subject matter expert.
  • Prepare journal entries to record monthly transactions in the general ledger, ensuring support for each entry.
  • Assist with monthly close, including completion of assigned tasks, reconciling account balances, reviewing and explaining account variances vs. prior periods, and ensuring accuracy and completion of accounting records.
  • Account for payroll and related activity and accruals, including commissions, benefits, and taxes.
  • Account for goodwill, intangible assets, warrants, and equity in the consolidated ledger.
  • Account for intercompany transactions between Fathom entities and reconciling each month to ensure proper elimination in the consolidation.
  • Assist internal customers in researching accounting matters and ensuring the general ledger is accurately presented.
  • Perform advanced analysis on accounting activity and recommend areas for process improvement.

Preferred/Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least five years of accounting experience preferred. Demonstrated success as an Accounting Specialist. Working knowledge of computers and business software (Microsoft Office) and the ability to learn proprietary software; ability to operate general office equipment.
