Job Description
The Solid Waste Disposal Authority of Baldwin County, AL is seeking a diligent Solid Waste Technician to join our team. This position involves manual labor tasks, including grass cutting, garbage collection, and operation of trucks and light tractors. The SWT will work under the immediate direction of a higher-grade employee or foreman.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor duties as required, such as grass mowing and shrub pruning.
- Operate collection trucks and lift garbage cans.
- Drive trucks and vehicles that do not require a Commercial Driver’s License.
Requirements
- Basic skills in operating trucks and light tractors.
- Knowledge of traffic rules and safety regulations.
- Valid Driver’s License required (CDL for promotion).
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and in emergencies.
Physical Requirements
- Visual, auditory, and speaking abilities for safe vehicle operation.
- Physical fitness for lifting and manual work tasks.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
- Exposure to various environmental conditions.
Compensation
Salary Range: $16.54 - $27.10 per hour.
